Christmas Morning

We began preparations for Christmas morning by laying out cookies and milk for Santa. Ana was so excited, she could hardly sleep. Christmas morning Ana woke up bright and early, but had to wait for Daddy to get home from the station before we could go see what Santa brought. But, it wasn't Daddy that made her wait the longest. It was Ava and Ali. As you can see from the clock in the background of the picture below, it was almost 9 before I finally convinced them to wake up and see what Santa brought.
They were not ready to get up at all!!! It took me quite awhile to get them warmed up to seeing what Santa brought. Ana could not understand at all why they didn't want to get up. I told her that she was like that when she was their age too. Ava, Ali, and Ana are all true Maddoxes, they are not morning girls!!
Ana discovered that Santa apparently got caught in our fire place when he was leaving -- a part of his coat was left in the doorway of the fireplace. She thought that was so neat.
Here Ana is helping us put the Santa on top of our tree. This is something she gets to do every year.

Here is Adi with her Santa goodies -- the Little People's Nativity set, some jewelry, a puppy, a disney movie, and some candy.

Here she is with the pony that Grandma Betty and Granddad gave her. She loves that it moves its head, neighs, and makes a galloping sound.
Here Ali is patiently waiting to open her presents. I was amazed at how well they each waited their turn.
Here Ava is blinged out playing with her petzzz dalmation. This is the best kind of puppy to get for Christmas. :-) You don't have to feed it, you don't have to potty train it, all it does is lay there and sleep. When Ava saw her puppy she said, "My puppy, so cute!" It does snore somewhat...which just makes it more realistic.
Ava and Ali got the two princess from the movie "Ice Castle". They LOVE them. They sing two songs and if you hold their hands together, they sing together. They spent a lot of time playing with them (and still do!)
Ana enjoyed going through her stocking -- she got earrings (lots of them), a charm bracelet and some charms, and her favorite...a camera. She took all the pictures right away. (The family got a Wii -- which Ana discovered she really liked playing at Sunni and Brad's)
I got this sailboat from Larry and Betty -- I have always admired this at their house. I was very excited to get it!! I don't know why, I am not a notical person, so to speak, but I have always thought this one was neat looking.
This was my favorite present -- hand made by Daddy and Ana. I am going to hang it in my office so that all my students can see Ana's handwork. (she loves making things for people -- she has such a tender heart and yes she is happy in this picture -- this is just her new way of smiling)
We were blessed to have Larry and Betty spend Christmas Eve night with us and Christmas day. They really enjoyed seeing the kids christmas morning -- watching their excitement over Santa. Here they are reading the card that Ana made them for Christmas.
We didn't forget the true reason for Christmas...after opening the presents from Santa, we sat down to breakfast and Ana read the Christmas story from the Bible. She did a great job, Betty only had to help her with a few words. It was very heartwarming to listen to my baby girl reading such an important story. This was really a great Christmas.
